Markham Elementary School Thanks Mt. Lebanon's First Responders
This morning, a special commemoration of 9/11 was held at Markham Elementary School where members of the Mt. Lebanon Police and Fire Departments were recognized and thanked for their constant vigilance to keep our community safe from harm. Watch a slideshow.
Alumni Homecoming Tailgate Planned for Oct. 17
Mt. Lebanon High School Alumni are invited to return to the high school for a Homecoming Tailgate on Friday, October 17, from 6:00-8:00p.m. Plan to reconnect with classmates at the tailgate which will be held on the new plaza at the back of the Athletic Building.

Progress continues with the high school project. The focus is now on finishing the last, large academic space-the D Building on Horsman Drive. This structure is the critical piece that links together all the buildings on campus.

Mt. Lebanon School District Ranked #1 in Pittsburgh Business Times Guide to Western PA Schools
The Mt. Lebanon School District is the top-ranked school district in western Pennsylvania, according to the 2014 Pittsburgh Business Times' Honor Roll Rank. Mt. Lebanon High School and Jefferson Middle School were also ranked as the top 11th grade and 8th grade in the region. All 10 schools received high rankings that led to the overall top finish for the school district.

The first day of school is just around the corner, but some of our students planned ahead and held school supply collections last spring to help provide students at schools in our region with needed pens, pencils,notebooks, and erasers to start the school year.
The Sun Finally Shines Down on Band Camp
The first week of band camp kicked off on Monday which means the start of school is right around the corner. After a few very soggy days, the sun finally broke out in time for band photos. Band Director Louise Marino is getting the group ready for the football home opener on Friday, August 29 at 7:30 p.m. against Canon McMillan High School.

The Mt. Lebanon School District ranked among the top school districts in the nation in the tenth annual Digital School Districts Survey by the Center for Digital Education and the National School Boards Association.

Coach Oldaker Brings Home the Gold From China with Team USA
Congratulations to Coach Dori Oldaker for bringing home the gold medal as head coach of Team USA's 3x3 women’s basketball team that competed this week at the 2014 Youth Olympic Games in Nanjing, China.
High School Teacher Honored at The Islamic Center of Pittsburgh
The Islamic Center of Pittsburgh (ICP) celebrated its annual Humanity Day, at which local educators were honored for promoting acceptance and understanding of different faiths. Mt. Lebanon High School Social Studies teacher, Julianne Slogick, was the only high school teacher honored at the event.
